There’s a new member of the legendary Explorer family — the brand-new 2021 Ford Explorer Timberline. This off-road-capable SUV boasts a bevy of bespoke features that are designed to enable your wildest outdoor adventures.
It comes standard with standard Hill Descent Control, Intelligent 4WD with the Terrain Management System, and a Torsen limited-slip rear differential to help it traverse the most rugged terrain with ease. On top of that, it’s kitted out with steel skid plates, retuned handling, Bridgestone Dueler all-terrain tires, and a mighty 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that unleashes 300 horsepower and a 5,300-pound maximum towing capacity.
In addition to its capabilities, the Timberline offers some exclusive exterior features — including the Forged Green Metallic paint color, complemented by Red Ember front tow hooks, blacked-out accents, and a stylish Carbonized Gray grille. On the inside, it’s equally distinctive, with a Deep Cypress interior color scheme with Tangerine contrast stitching and ActiveX seats, which are designed to easily wipe clean after a muddy outdoor expedition.
“Timberline hits a new sweet spot with these customers who want an ideal combination of passenger space, moderate off-road capability, and great manners around town,” stated Ford President of the Americas and International Markets Group Kumar Galhotra.
